Q1 2020 Parolees Recap: Who was paroled in Richland County?

There were nine offenders released on parole during the first quarter of 2020 that live in Richland County, according to Illinois Department of Corrections data obtained by East Central Reporter.

The data shows that eight men and one woman were released in Richland County. Of the parolees, one is a veteran, and the median age is 41. The youngest parolee was a 27-year-old man sentenced for a property crime in 2019, and the oldest was a 61-year-old man sentenced for a crime involving drugs in 2019.

The offender who had been incarcerated the longest was Charles May. He was convicted of a crime against a person in 2018 when he was 36 years old. He is now 39.

Under state law, paroled offenders are still in legal custody of the IDOC, meaning they can be taken back to a correctional center at any time if the state has probable cause or a warrant.

The table below gives a breakdown of how many offenders were paroled in the first quarter of 2020 in each Richland County municipality with at least one parolee in the quarter.
