Villa Grove Fire District responded to 18 calls in 2018 - 25 percent less than the previous year, according to data from the National Fire Incident Reporting System.

The calls in Villa Grove included 14 fires - seven structure fires, two vehicle fires and five other fires.

In all, the department saw $5,500 in fire loss - or about $393 per fire.

The department also received four false calls.
