Paris FPD responds to 34 fires in 2018

Paris Fire Protection Department responded to 39 calls in 2018 - 13.3 percent less than the previous year, according to data from the National Fire Incident Reporting System.

The calls in Paris included 34 fires - five structure fires, eight vehicle fires and 21 other fires.

In all, the department saw $385,267 in fire loss - or about $11,331 per fire.

The department also received five false calls.

The Paris Fire Protection Department had an annual budget of $322,092 in 2018.

The Paris Firefighters Pension Fund, which has 14 active employees and 16 retired or inactive employees, was $81,581 positive as of April 2017, according to the fund's mandated filings with the Illinois Department of Insurance. That amounts to $1,990 for every fire in 2017.
