Wade Fire Protection Department responded to 35 calls in 2018 - 30 percent less than the previous year, according to data from the National Fire Incident Reporting System.

The calls in Wade included 21 fires - 13 structure fires, two vehicle fires and six other fires.

In all, the department saw $195,500 in fire loss - or about $9,310 per fire.

The department also received 14 false calls.
