Analysis: Effingham pays $5.60 for every $1 pensioners contribute to Effingham Firefighters Pension Fund

Taxpayers contributed 84.9 percent of the $784,661 the Effingham Firefighters Pension Fund brought in 2018, or $5.60 for every $1 from pension members, according to a East Central Reporter analysis of the latest data reported to the Illinois Department of Insurance Pension Division.

In all, Effingham contributed $665,871 to the fund, which saw a $39,879 increase in revenue over 2017. Members contributed $118,790, or 15.1 percent, in 2018.
