Analysis: Shelbyville pays $5.57 for every $1 pensioners contribute to Shelbyville Police Pension Fund

Taxpayers contributed 84.8 percent of the $220,873 the Shelbyville Police Pension Fund brought in 2018, or $5.57 for every $1 from pension members, according to a East Central Reporter analysis of the latest data reported to the Illinois Department of Insurance Pension Division.

In all, Shelbyville contributed $187,276 to the fund, which saw a $11,355 increase in revenue over 2017. Members contributed $33,598, or 15.2 percent, in 2018.
