Illinois State House District 109 issued the following announcement on May 7.
State Representative Darren Bailey recently received a call about obtaining face shields for an Illinois state agency. Bailey contacted North American Lighting (NAL) in nearby Flora, but they were unable to acquire the PPE (personal protective equipment) in a timely manner and mentioned that John Deere was also making face shields. Rep. Bailey then called a personal friend, Bill Reichman, owner of Reichman Brothers, LLC – John Deere of Okawville, Illinois. Mr. Reichman contacted his division manager, Rob Rippchen who passed the message of a need for PPE to John Deere headquarters in Moline. A week later 300 needed masks showed up at Rep. Bailey’s district office.
“This is another example of the public-private partnerships that happen in our community without the need of a law or regulation to do the right thing,” commented Rep. Darren Bailey. “The state agency in this instance provides public safety and security services and asked to remain anonymous but are very appreciative of the quick response for the help. I’d like to say THANK YOU to John Deere!”
