There was one offender released on parole during 2019 that lives in Villa Grove zip code 61956, according to Illinois Department of Corrections data obtained by East Central Reporter.

The data shows that the released offender was Jason Shanks. He was convicted of a financial crime or fraud in 2018, when he was 52. He is now 54.

Under state law, paroled offenders are still in legal custody of the IDOC, meaning they can be taken back to a correctional center at any time if the state has probable cause or a warrant.
