City of Mattoon issued the following announcement on April 2.
The Public Works Department is accepting applications for a seasonal landscaper position to maintain the City’s landscaping downtown, and the landscaping at the City welcome signs. The work includes planting, establishment, and care of various species of flowers, shrubs, and trees. The work requires mowing, trimming, weeding, mulching, watering, and all other necessary plant care activities. The landscaper also maintains the City parking lots downtown.
The work schedule is 40 hours per week from May to August. The pay rate is $11.00/hr. There are no full-time benefits. Students and non-students are welcome to apply.
Applicants must have a background in landscaping, gardening, or horticulture. A valid driver’s license is required. Applications may obtained from the Public Works Office at 208 N 19th Street, Mattoon, IL 61938.
