Flora Community Unit School District #35 Board of Education met Jan. 15.

Call to Order:
1. Motion Cook, seconded by Leib, to approve the Consent Agenda: Minutes of the previous meeting, December 18, 2019, Bills, Activity Account Statements, Treasurer’s Report, Authorization of Superintendent to prepare the 2020-2021 school district budget, Approve the FFA trip to the National Farm Machinery Show in Louisville, KY on February 12th, Approve the high school girls’ basketball trip on February 2nd to Louisville to watch a basketball game. Roll call: Unanimous
RECOGNITION OF COMMENTS BY EMPLOYEES AND FROM THE PUBLIC The Board recognized the 2020 Illinois State Scholars. Terry Branch, Doug Slagley and Students presented about the FFA program.
NEW BOARD BUSINESS
2. Motion Brooks, seconded by Porter, to approve keeping the executive session minutes from July 2019 to December 2019 closed and authorize the destruction of the eligible verbatim recordings of closed session. Roll Call: McCoy, yes; Cook, yes; Brooks, yes; Dunahee, yes; Wiley, yes; Leib, yes; Porter, yes.
3. Committee Reports: Superintendent Hackney reported that the food committee met on January 7th, the technology committee met on January 13th, and the CAC committee will meet on February 5th
4. Administrator Reports:
Mrs. Pearce: Finished Fall testing, Pre-K night next week.
Mrs. Carder: Finished Benchmark screening, preparing for state testing.
Mrs. Leonard: Volleyball tryouts 1/24, 1/25, DARE starts 1/28, Hosting boy’s basketball regionals.
T. Pearce: Preparing for student selecting classes, curriculum guide changes.
McNeely: Fri Jan 17 1500 win recognition for boy’s basketball, Girls LIC tournament on Saturday, Boys LIC tournament on 1/24, new score board, play clock with sponsors.
Hackney-Highlighted the institute on January 3rd and the newly created Former Educator Hall of Fame
5. Motion Leib, seconded by Porter, to adjourn the meeting at ( 5:59 ). All ayes. Motion carried. Unanimous
