Q2 2019 Parolees Recap: Who was paroled in Clay County?

There were seven offenders released on parole during the second quarter of 2019 that live in Clay County, according to Illinois Department of Corrections data obtained by East Central Reporter.

The data shows that four men and three women were released in Clay County. Of the parolees, one is a veteran, and the median age is 40. The youngest parolee was a 26-year-old man sentenced in 2018, and the oldest was a 57-year-old woman sentenced for a crime involving drugs in 2018.

The offender who had been incarcerated the longest was Daniel L. Cornwell. He was convicted in 2014 when he was 40 years old. He is now 46.

Under state law, paroled offenders are still in legal custody of the IDOC, meaning they can be taken back to a correctional center at any time if the state has probable cause or a warrant.

The table below gives a breakdown of how many offenders were paroled in the second quarter of 2019 in each Clay County municipality with at least one parolee in the quarter.
