City of Marshall City Council met January 13

City of Marshall City Council met Jan. 13.

Here is the minutes provided by the council:

The regular meeting of the City Council was called to order at 6:30 P.M., with Mayor John Trefz presiding. Upon roll call, all council members were present.

Green made a motion, seconded by LeFever, to approve the minutes of the previous meeting as written. Upon roll call, all council members voted for. Motion carried.

Public Comment: LeFever spoke about the 2020 Planning Sheets and wanting to do more for residental clean-up, sidewalks and streets.

New Business: None

The annual audit for Fiscal Year ending 2019 was presented by Kelsey Swing from Gilbert, Metzger and Madigan, LLC.

United Way of the Wabash Valley gave a presentation on their new structure of assisting the 5 counties in their district.

LeFever made a motion, seconded by Wallace, to adopt ORDINANCE NO. 2020-O-01, an ordinance vacating a portion of South 14th Street. Upon roll call, all council members voted for. Motion carried.

LeFever made a motion, seconded by Sanders, to adopt ORDINANCE NO. 2020-O-02, an ordinance Amending Appendix A – Zoning. Article III. Accessory Structure and Uses of the City of Marshall City Code by Adding Section 12.7 Solar Renewable Energy Systems. Upon roll call, all council members voted for. Motion carried.

Green made a motion, seconded by LeFever to pay the bills in the amount of $1,454,266.05. Upon roll call, all members voted for. Motion carried.

Sanders made a motion, seconded by Wallace to pay Shore-Murphy Associates in the amount of $350.00. Upon roll call, all council members voted for except Tharp. Tharp abstained due to the nature of her ownership in the business. Motion carried.

LeFever made a motion, seconded by Tharp to adjourn. Upon roll call, all council members voted for. Motion carried. Meeting adjourned at 7:20 P.M.
