Despite impeachment 'madness,' Rep. Miller says Trump is 'heartbeat of the universe' in Southern Illinois

Illinois state Rep. Chris Miller (R-Oakland) wonders what could really be accomplished if Democrats would just allow President Donald Trump to do his job.

“They’ve almost made it impossible for him to govern, and it’s amazing the things he’s been able to get done with no cooperation,” Miller told the East Central Reporter. “We’re seeing the lowest unemployment numbers, manufacturing is coming back and the steel mills are firing back up. Think of what he could do if he had cooperation.”

Miller says he views the Trump impeachment inquiry as politically motivated insanity that goes against the best interest of the country.

“I’m betting on him in 2020 and think we’ll just keep getting better and better,” Miller said. “Donald Trump is the heartbeat of the universe down here [in Southern Illinois] where people still have common sense.”

Miller said he was happy to see a wave of Illinois voters recently demonstrate outside the Rock Island office of U.S. Rep. Cheri Bustos (D-Rock Island), demanding that she “stop the madness” by calling an end to what they consider baseless impeachment proceedings. The Rock Island demonstration was part of a growing national effort to hold Democrats accountable for what Trump supporters like Miller consider to be their politically motivated actions.

The Republican National Committee has launched a new StopTheMadness.gop website that serves as a one-stop informational resource in support of the president – and the truth.

“All I know is that when I wake every morning, I give thanks that crooked Hillary Clinton is not our president,” Miller said. “All this is totally about politics. If you watch the narrative, they throw butter on the wall to see what sticks and so far nothing has. On top of that, there’s no such thing as an impeachment inquiry. Either he’s guilty or leave it alone, like I thing they should.”
