City of Arcola City Council met Sept. 3.
Here is the minutes provided by the council:
Mayor Ferguson called the meeting to order at 7:00 p.m. Members present were Alderpersons Smith, Ferguson, Budd, Foran and Huckstep. Alderman Hensley was not present. City Administrator Wagoner, Treasurer Anderson and Attorney Bequette were also present.
PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE Alderman Smith led the council and audience in the Pledge of Allegiance.
PUBLIC COMMENT There was none.
APPROVAL OF AUGUST 19, 2019 COUNCIL MEETING MINUTES Alderman Foran moved to approve the August 19, 2019 council meeting minutes as presented and was seconded by Alderman Smith. Roll call vote, all ayes. Motion carried.
APPROVAL OF AUGUST 17, 2019 – AUGUST 30, 2019 BILLS Alderwoman Huckstep moved to approve the August 17, 2019 – August 30, 2019 bills as presented and was seconded by Alderman Budd. Roll call vote, all ayes. Motion carried.
APPROVAL OF THE TREASURER’S REPORT FOR AUGUST Alderman Foran moved to approve the Treasurer’s report for August and was seconded by Alderwoman Huckstep. Roll call vote, all ayes. Motion carried.
APPROVAL OF THE AUGUST ZONING OFFICER’S REPORT The Zoning Officer reported 1 permit issued with valuation of $4,000 and a fee collected in amount of $25. Alderman Foran moved to approve the August Zoning Officer’s report and was seconded by Alderman Smith. Roll call vote, all ayes. Motion carried.
PRESENTATION BY CHIEF FREEZELAND Chief Freeezeland presented Sergeant Bean with a plaque for his 20 years of service to the Arcola Police Department and to the City of Arcola.
CONSIDER AND APPROVE AGREEMENT WITH THE ARCOLA FOUNDATION AND SHONKWILER FAMILY DENTAL Alderman Budd moved to approve Agreement with the Arcola Foundation and Shonkwiler Family Dental. Alderman Foran seconded the motion. Roll call vote, all ayes. Motion carried.
COMMITTEE REPORTS
Alderman Smith Had nothing at this time.
Alderwoman Ferguson Reported the Health, Sanitation, Trash & Recycling Committee met prior to this meeting and got update on lawsuit with Applewood structure on Main Street.
Alderman Budd Had nothing at this time.
Alderman Foran Remarked that he hopes for good festival and
knows the city employees will again do a great job.
Alderwoman Huckstep Had nothing at this time.
As this concluded the business of the meeting, Alderwoman Huckstep moved to adjourn and was seconded by Alderman Smith. Roll call vote, all ayes. Motion carried.
