City of Effingham issued the following announcement on Aug. 24.
The City of Effingham is excited to announce that the vacant restaurant located at 1102 Avenue of MidAmerica, formerly Ryan’s, was purchased by BE Squared Construction & Remodeling, LLC in July 2019. The Springfield, IL based company plans on renovating the space and leasing it to a Golden Corral franchisee. The contractor is in the process of working with their architectural firm and the City of Effingham to obtain building permits while some light exterior work has already been approved. The renovation should take approximately six months with the restaurant planned to open in the Spring of 2020.
