Village of Westfield Village Board met May 6.

Others Present: Supt. Blake Coartney, Chief Duvall, Julia Gladu, Sherry Robison, Rob Robison, Jeremy Hacker, Jim Roberts, Betty Adams, Chelsey Hacker Call to Order: Meeting called to order by Mayor Fouty at 7:00 p.m.
Swearing in New Trustees: Clerk Fouty swore in newly elected trustees James Dollahan and Scott Adams.

Approve April Regular Minutes: Evans made motion to accept the minutes of the regular meeting. Adams seconded the motion. Motion carried. Approved
Approve Payment of Bills: Motion to accept payment of bills was made by Adams, seconded by Evans. Dollahan, aye, Adams, aye, Edwards, absent, Evans, aye, Hacker, aye. Motion carried. Approved.
Approve Financial Statement: Evans made motion to accept the financial statement. Hacker seconded the motion. Motion carried. Approved.
Approve Transfer of Funds: None
Citizens Comments: Jeremy Hacker thanked Supt. Coartney for his help with the ball diamond. Julia Gladu asked about the new fees for the gym and stated that Jim and Carol Roberts are unaware of the new fees. Two properties were discussed. Board agreed to pursue legal action against Buchanan and Reynolds’ property owners. Julia Gladu also asked about if alcohol would be a problem at the ball diamond. Treasurer Sherry Robison told the board that she was planting flowers in the barrels uptown and Markwell’s agreed to pay for the flowers.
Discuss and Approve Committee Reports: None
Discuss and Approve Police Report: Report reviewed. Board agreed to take legal action on the Brubaker property. Evans made the motion to approve the police report, Hacker seconded the motion. Motion carried. Approved.
Discuss and Approve Utility Superintendent’s Report: Report discussed. Board agreed to hire 3 part-time summer helpers. Hacker made the motion to accept the utility superintendent report. Adams seconded the motion. Motion carried. Approved.
Discuss and Approve An Ordinance Creating Chapter 3 Article V of the Village Code Regarding the Keeping of Farm Animals: Discussion took place. Dollahan made the motion to accept the ordinance. Evans seconded the motion. Adams, aye, Dollahan, aye, Evans, aye, Edwards, nay, Hacker, nay. Motion carried. Approved.
Other Business: Gym contract were discussed. Hacker made the motion to use the contract. Dollahan seconded the motion. Motion carried. Approved. Mayor Fouty nominated Quincy Blanchard for the vacant trustee position. All ayes. Motion carried. Approved.
Adjourn Meeting: Evans made the motion to adjourn the meeting at 8:22 p.m. Dollahan seconded the motion. Motion carried. Approved.
