City of Martinsville issued the following announcement on Aug. 12.
Last year Mrs. Sheri Cooper created a school-wide campaign to get books in the
hands of every child, and students LOVED getting a free book each month!
The Martinsville Elementary School is on a mission to do that again in the 19/20
school year, but they need your help! Please consider donating to Seeds for
Reading because planting a small seed can turn a child into a big reader!
You can mail your check for $9 to MES at 410 E. Kendall St.
Martinsville, IL 62442. Be sure to put “Seeds for Reading” on the memo line so
it will go toward this program. Staff will also accept donations at school
registration as well as the open house
