Arcola Community Unified School District 306 Board Building Committee met May 2.
Here is the minutes as provided by the committee:
Present: Tom Mulligan, Superintendent; Board Members: Jim Crane, Dr. Robert Arrol, Lucas Shonkwiler, Erica Thieman, Sue Stout, Craig Wesch, and Chad Strader; Visitors: Ken Vogt, and Mike Zellers, district architect.
The meeting was called to order at 7:00 pm.
Mike Zellers presented ideas and financial estimates for several projects including the new elementary entrance, renovation of the elementary hallways, renovation of second floor bathroom, and locker room renovation. The committee discussed the projects and decided they would like to proceed looking more in depth at the elementary front entrance project and the elementary/cafeteria renovation projects. Dr. Mulligan presented information on the timeline that would be needed to complete a large scale project like the front entrance building addition.
The building committee then reviewed prospective/approved projects for the upcoming summer. These projects included:
Visiting Bleachers – committee discussed the actual placement of the bleachers and the ramp design.
Media Center Redesign – Dr. Mulligan presented an update on the media center design and said it will most likely occur in the fall.
The building committee meeting adjourned at 9:00 pm.
