Q4 2018 Parolees Recap: Who was paroled in Coles County?

There were 20 offenders released on parole during the fourth quarter that live in Coles County, according to Illinois Department of Corrections data obtained by East Central Reporter.

The data shows that 18 men and two women were released in Coles County. Of the parolees, one is a veteran, and the median age is 35. The youngest parolee was a 22-year-old man sentenced for a property crime in 2017, and the oldest was a 68-year-old man sentenced in 2018.

The offender who had been incarcerated the longest was Samuel L. Meadows. He was convicted of a crime involving alcohol in 2014 when he was 22 years old. He is now 27.

Under state law, paroled offenders are still in legal custody of the IDOC, meaning they can be taken back to a correctional center at any time if the state has probable cause or a warrant.
