Q2 2018 Parolees Recap: Who was paroled in Shelby County?

There were six offenders released on parole during the second quarter that live in Shelby County, according to Illinois Department of Corrections data obtained by East Central Reporter.

The data shows that five men and one woman were released in Shelby County. The median age of the parolees was 31. The youngest parolee was a 24-year-old man sentenced for a property crime in 2017, and the oldest was a 41-year-old man sentenced for a crime against justice in 2018.

The offender who had been incarcerated the longest was Captain J. Heather. He was convicted of a property crime in 2017 when he was 36 years old. He is now 38.

Under state law, paroled offenders are still in legal custody of the IDOC, meaning they can be taken back to a correctional center at any time if the state has probable cause or a warrant.

The table below gives a breakdown of how many offenders were paroled in the second quarter in each Shelby County municipality.
