City of Mattoon issued the following announcement on June 4.
Annual Coles County Fireworks at the Coles County Memorial Airport. Free Admission, Gates open at 4p. FREE shuttles from Mattoon Cross County Mall and Charleston/EIU O'Brien Stadium begin at 5p. Handicap Access Available. Food vendors and inflatables on site. Fireworks start at dark, approximately 9:15p. Listen to 101.3 WMCI or watch this Facebook event page for real time updates if we have challenging weather.
