City of Newton Finance Committee met May 21.

1. CALL TO ORDER: Mark Bolander, Mayor

2. PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE led by Alderman Robert Reisner

3. ROLL CALL: Rosetta York, City Clerk

4. ADOPT OR AMEND AGENDA

5. APPROVAL OF REGULAR MINUTES of May 7, 2019

6. APPROVAL OF BILLS & ACCOUNTS PAYABLE

7. PUBLIC COMMENTS/COMMUNICATIONS: John Stone

8. OLD BUSINESS:

a. Consider and act on authorizing the TIF agreement with Pizza Man.

b. Consider and act on authorizing Connor & Connor and SCIRPDC to apply for 2019 Build Grant.

c. Consider and act on authorizing Connor & Connor and SCIRPDC to apply for a water/sewer main replacement/repair grant in the targeted area around Liberty St. which requires a survey of the citizens in that targeted area.

d. Consider and act on authorizing a $4.00 credit to the targeted area citizens who return the completed surveys and within the deadline, delivered to City Hall.

9. NEW BUSINESS:

a. Consider and act on Amber Volk to attend The Climate Economy in Southern Illinois conference training on June 12, 2019, no fees just allowable expenses.

b. Consider and act on Resolution 19-04 Regarding Truck Parking Lot Funds.
