CITY OF MATTOON: Electrical Aggregation Program

Electricaggregation

City of Mattoon issued the following announcement on April 26.

Homefield Energy is the name of the company that provides electrical supply for our residents thru the Municipal Electrical Aggregation Program.

They got a little ahead of us and started sending out “Opt-Out” letters.

We will be discussing at the next Council Meeting.

The electric supply cost for our residents is being reduced by 1.2 cents per kW/hr.

All you have to do is throw the letter away, and you will receive the new rate (4.65 cents per kW/hr).

Or, you can “Opt-out” by returning the letter, and you will be returned to Ameren’s standard rates (for 2 yrs min).

Ameren’s rates for this summer/next winter have not been announced yet.

If you have a special supplier (not us or Ameren), and you want to stay with them, then you need to follow the instructions on the letter.

Our residents have saved $300/household versus Ameren’s standard rates since the inception of this program.
