Charleston home prices fall in March 2017

The median sale price of a home sold in March 2017 in Charleston fell by $9,550 while total sales decreased by 46.9%, according to BlockShopper.com.

In March 2017, there were 17 homes sold, with a median sale price of $84,900 - a 10.1% decrease over the $94,450 median sale price for the same period of the previous year. There were 32 homes sold in Charleston in March 2016.

The median sales tax in Charleston for 2017 was $2,101.09. In 2016, the median sales tax was $2,134.90. This marks an decrease of 1.6%. The effective property tax rate, using the median property tax and median home sale price as the basis, is 2.5%.
