City of Effingham issued the following announcement on March 15.
Effingham Mayor Jeff Bloemker visited Effingham Senior Center Thursday, March 14 to provide an update of City business.
After the Mayor's presentation, senior participants were happy to be part of a question and answer session concerning City of Effingham topics.
Mayor Bloemker also stayed to help serve lunch at the Dine-with-a-Doc activity of the day.
"Our society is in the process of being consumed by the 'Silver Tsunami.' The aging Baby Boomers are going to have needs that are going to stress our systems in ways we are not accustomed to. Transportation, housing, recreation. We better get our collective head around it," said Mayor Bloemker.
