City of Newman issued the following announcement on Feb. 7.
The City of Newman is accepting applications for one (1) Motor Sweeper Operator position to perform a variety of duties in the operation of street sweeping equipment for the purpose of cleaning City commercial and residential streets and related areas. Motor Sweeper Operator performs a variety of duties in the operation of street sweeping equipment for the purpose of cleaning City commercial and residential streets and related areas; adjusts and performs routine maintenance to assigned equipment; assists in the repair, maintenance, and construction of public works systems, facilities, infrastructure, and equipment; and performs other duties as required. This position may be required to work various shifts or emergencies on evenings, weekends and holidays. Must possess an appropriate valid Class “C” California driver’s license. Possession of, or ability to obtain, an appropriate valid Class “A” and/or Class “B” California driver’s license is required. This full-time position includes a generous benefit package with paid vacation, sick-leave, CalPERS retirement, Medical, Dental and Vision coverage. Applicant must successfully complete a pre-employment medical examination, drug screening, and background check.
