Administrators in Shelbyville Community Unit School District 4 earn an average of $90,574 per year, ranking 590th out of 864 districts in the state, according to a East Central Reporter analysis of the latest Illinois schools report card.

The 2018 average is 4.5% higher than in 2014 and 4.2% lower than in 2009. District administrators make 15.6% less than the state average of $107,279.

Administrator salaries depend on the district's size, location and resources, as well as the individual's level of experience and education, according to the Illinois State Board of Education report.

The Shelby County school district enrolled 1205 students in 2017-18. There is an average of 201 students for every administrator, compared to a statewide ratio of 181 to 1.
