Report: Stewardson-Strasburg spent $8,258 per student in 2017-18

Spending per pupil at Stewardson-Strasburg Community Unit School District 5A is down 11.4 percent from five years ago, according to a East Central Reporter analysis of district finances.

The Illinois State Board of Education 2017-18 report card shows the Shelby County school district spent $9,322 per pupil in 2013-14. It spent $8,258 in 2017-18.

The district saw its enrollment fall over the same period, from 369 to 355.

Stewardson-Strasburg's spending in 2017-18 was 38.1 percent lower than the state average of $13,337.
