Report: Effingham spent $8,986 per student in 2017-18

Spending per pupil at Effingham Community Unit School District 40 is up 0.1 percent from five years ago, according to a East Central Reporter analysis of district finances.

The Illinois State Board of Education 2017-18 report card shows the Effingham County school district spent $8,979 per pupil in 2013-14. It spent $8,986 in 2017-18.

The district saw its enrollment fall over the same period, from 2648 to 2510.

Effingham's spending in 2017-18 was 32.6 percent lower than the state average of $13,337.
