Report: Central A&M spent $10,679 per student in 2017-18

Spending per pupil at Central A&M Community Unit School District 21 is up 22.4 percent from five years ago, according to a East Central Reporter analysis of district finances.

The Illinois State Board of Education 2017-18 report card shows the Shelby County school district spent $8,723 per pupil in 2013-14. It spent $10,679 in 2017-18.

The district saw its enrollment fall over the same period, from 832 to 714.

Central A&M's spending in 2017-18 was 19.9 percent lower than the state average of $13,337.
