Report: Villa Grove spent $7,558 per student in 2017-18

Spending per pupil at Villa Grove Community Unit School District 302 is down 21.1 percent from five years ago, according to a East Central Reporter analysis of district finances.

The Illinois State Board of Education 2017-18 report card shows the Douglas County school district spent $9,574 per pupil in 2013-14. It spent $7,558 in 2017-18.

The district saw its enrollment rise over the same period, from 636 to 656.

Villa Grove's spending in 2017-18 was 43.3 percent lower than the state average of $13,337.
