Village of Dieterich Board met Nov. 19.

Here is the minutes provided by the board:

The Dieterich Village Board met in regular session on Monday, November 19, 2018 at 6:30 PM at Village Hall.

The meeting was called to order by President Brad Hardiek and the Pledge of Allegiance was recited.

The following Trustees were present: Carrie Galbraith; Mike French; Jeff White and Jennie Ashley. Trustees Mike Meyer and Steve Kibler were absent. With four Trustees present, a quorum was declared to be present. Also at the meeting was Clerk Brittny Gipson. Trustee Steve Kibler was listening to the meeting via speakerphone.

A motion was made by Trustee M. French; seconded by Trustee J. White to approve the omnibus agenda; approve minutes of the November 5, 2018 regular meeting. Roll call was 4 yes and 0 no.

President Hardiek expressed concern over the muddy conditions on the new Hartke Subdivision streets. Trustees were all in agreeance that we need to do something to help the situation. All of the precipitation combined with the muddy tires from construction equipment has made the new streets a mess. Clerk Gipson was asked to have Mike Campbell add more rock.

A motion was made by Trustee M. French; seconded by Trustee J. White to approve Ordinance 921-18: Amending the Village of Dieterich Personnel Policies and Procedures (Harassment Policy). Roll call was 4 yes and 0 no.

After discussion regarding some minor changes needed in the contract for private development with Septic Solutions, the Board agreed to table Ordinance 922-18 and have our attorney make changes.

The Board reviewed quotes from Sandschafer Electric and Pals Electric for new lights on the water tower. A motion was made by Trustee J. White; seconded by Trustee J. Ashley to approve the low quote from Pals Electric for $5,950.00 to remove the existing fixtures and to install 15 new LED light fixtures on the Village water tower. Roll call was 4 yes and 0 no.

A motion was made by Trustee M. French; seconded by Trustee C. Galbraith to host a Village resident exterior Christmas lighting contest on Facebook. The winner will receive a free December water/sewer/trash bill. Second place will receive 75% off of their December bill and third place will receive 50% off of their bill. There will also be a $25 gift card to a Dieterich business given to one of the voters chosen at random. Roll call was 4 yes and 0 no.

A motion was made by Trustee J. Ashley; seconded by Trustee M. French to give holiday bonuses to all permanent full-time and part-time employees. $12.50 per month of service in the year 2018 will be given. The Board of Trustees, Zoning Board and Engineer Beckman will each be given a $25 gift card to a local business. Roll call was 4 yes and 0 no.

At 7:07 PM a motion was made by Trustee J. White; seconded by Trustee M. French to recess into Closed Executive Session for discussion of a personnel matter and a land purchase. Roll call was 4 yes and 0 no.

At 7:36 PM the Board returned from Closed Executive Session. Upon roll call the following Trustees were present: Carrie Galbraith; Mike French; Jeff White and Jennie Ashley. Trustees Steve Kibler and Mike Meyer were absent. Also present were President Hardiek and Clerk Gipson.

At 7:36 PM a motion was made by Trustee J. White; seconded by Trustee M. French to adjourn the meeting. Roll call was 4 yes and 0 no.
