Report: 18.5% of Lake Land College students repaying loans are in default

Out of 495 Lake Land College students repaying loans in 2015, 92 were in default, according to the latest disclosure from the U.S. Department of Education.

That gives the two-year public school in Mattoon a default rate of 18.5 percent for that year – 1.6 percentage points lower than in 2014 and 0.3 points lower than in 2013.

Lake Land College had 29 fewer students in default in 2015 than in 2014 and 2 fewer than in 2013.
