City of Mattoon issued the following announcement on Nov. 26.
A festival of holiday lights!
Drive through Peterson Park to see a vast array of holiday lights displayed. There are new displays added, with many animated. There will be a live nativity on Friday nights in December. Free Admission with donations accepted. Over 15,000 visitors each year see this great display of holiday lights vividly reflecting off the winter's snow.
Peterson Park

Mattoon, Illinois
November 16th– December 25th
Sunday—Thursday 5-9pm
Friday & Saturday 5-10 pm
Live Nativity scenes are from 6-8pm on Fridays in December.
