CITY OF EFFINGHAM: No Shave November at Effingham Police Department Happy Thanksgiving!

Thanksgiving

City of Effingham issued the following announcement on Nov. 14.

Mayor Bloemker (who is also the Police Commissioner) stopped by the Effingham Police Dept recently to check on the progress of "No Shave November," whereby the EPD is raising funds to provide Thanksgiving dinner to local families. Each participating officer paid $50 for the right not to shave in the month of November. Mayor stated, "We appreciate the sacrifice being made by the participating officers and we appreciate the strong sense of community outreach they continue to exhibit. My understanding is that there are several unhappy spouses at this juncture, including the First Lady, and we want to remind them that this is only a 30 day promotion. It certainly gives new meaning to 'The Fuzz'."
