City of Paris City Council met Oct. 22.

Here is the minutes provided by the council:

Mayor Smith called the regular meeting of the Paris City Council to order at 5:30 PM. Rich Kash said the opening prayer. Present on roll call were Commissioners Boyer, Branson, Hughes, Kemper and Mayor Smith.

The Pledge of Allegiance was repeated in unison.

PROCLAMATIONS

Paris Tigers Football Week – October 22nd through 27th

Congratulations on an undefeated season and good luck in the playoffs.

CITIZEN PARTICIPATION

Betsy Higginbotham was present to explain plans to host a triathlon in Paris next summer.

CONSENT AGENDA

Commissioner Boyer moved for approval of the Consent Agenda. Commissioner Hughes seconded the motion. Included on the consent agenda was the approval of the minutes of the October 9, 2018 regular meeting, bills previously paid $2,162.98 bills to be paid $154,911.88, salaries $142,286.65, and one water tap. All answered aye on roll call, no nays.

ORDINANCES AND RESOLUTIONS

RESOLUTION Approving Christmas in Paris Parade. Commissioner Boyer introduced and moved to adopt, Commissioner Hughes seconded the motion. All answered aye on roll call, no nays.

RESOLUTION Approving Temporary Closing of Right-Of-Way. Commissioner Hughes introduced and moved to adopt, Commissioner Boyer seconded the motion. All answered aye on roll call, no nays.

Commissioner Reports

Mayor Smith:

Motion to approve 2018 ICRMT property & casualty insurance renewal. Mayor Smith moved to approve, Commissioner Hughes seconded the motion. All answered aye on roll call, no nays.

Motion to approve invoice from American Legal Publishing for Code of Ordinances update at the cost of $2,093.11. Mayor Smith moved to approve, Commissioner Boyer seconded the motion. All answered aye on roll call, no nays.

Commissioner Boyer:

Motion to approve proposal from Faulk’s Garage for repairs on Engine 7 in the amount of $7,160.00. Commissioner Boyer moved to approve, Commissioner Branson seconded the motion. All answered aye on roll call, no nays.

Commissioner Branson:

Commissioner Kemper:

Motion to approve invoice from Illinois Meter for 2-way fire hydrant at the cost of $1,775.00. Commissioner Kemper moved to approve, Commissioner Boyer seconded the motion. All answered aye on roll call, no nays.
