City of Olney issued the following announcement on Oct. 22.
The City of Olney Water Department will be switching the disinfectant in the distribution system from free chlorine to chloramine on October 29, 2018. Chloramines are the normal disinfectant used and the free chlorine was used in conjunction with the biannual hydrant flushing. Residents may notice a change in the taste of the water until all free chlorine is out of the lines.
