City of Mattoon issued the following announcement on Oct. 8.
Each November, the City of Mattoon looks forward to the annual Veteran's Day and Christmas Parades. The Veteran's Day Parade is held each year on November 11, and the Mattoon Christmas Parade is typically held on the Saturday before Thanksgiving. Organizations and individuals interested in participating in either parade have to register in advance. Registration for both parades is typically availalbe in early October.
