City of Olney issued the following announcement on Sept. 26.
The City of Olney Water Department will be switching the disinfectant in the distribution system from combined chlorine to free chlorine on Monday, October 1, 2018. This switch is for mainenance purposes and is in conjunction with the biannual hydrant flushing which will take place on October 7, 2018. Residents may notice a stronger chlorine smell while free chlorine is being used.
