CITY OF EFFINGHAM: Notice of Election

City of Effingham issued the following announcement on Sept. 10.

On April 2, 2019, the City of Effingham will hold an election for the purpose of selecting a Mayor (4-year term) and four City Commissioners (4-year term). Any registered voter of the City of Effingham who wants to file as a candidate may pick up nominating petitions and packets in the City Clerk’s Office on or after September 18, 2018.

Signed nominating petitions must be filed in the City Clerk’s Office between 8:00 a.m. December 10 through 5:00 p.m. December 17, 2018. During the time-frame in which petitions are being filed office hours are being altered to 8:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. and 1:00 p.m. – 5:00 p.m. Monday through Friday.

The City Clerk’s Office is located in City Hall, 201 E. Jefferson in Effingham. Regular office hours are 7:30 a.m. – 12 p.m. and 1:00 p.m. – 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday. Phone inquiries should be addressed to Deputy City Clerk Abbey Nosbisch at 217-342-5300 ext. 5364.
