Arcola City Council met Aug. 16.
Here is the agenda provided by the Council:
Mayor Ferguson called the meeting to order at 7:00 p.m. Members present were
Alderpersons Guyot, Foran, Huckstep, Smith, Hensley and Ferguson. City Administrator Wagoner was also present. Treasurer Anderson and Attorney Bequette were not present.
PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE Alderman Guyot led the council and audience in the
Pledge of Allegiance.
PUBLIC COMMENT There was none.
APPROVAL OF JULY 02, 2018 COUNCIL MEETING MINUTES Alderman Foran
moved to approve the July 02, 2018 council meeting minutes as presented and was seconded by Alderman Smith. Roll call vote, Guyot, aye; Foran, aye; Huckstep, abstain; Smith, aye; Hensley, aye; Ferguson, aye. Motion carried.
APPROVAL OF JUNE 30, 2018 – JULY 13, 2018 BILLS Alderwoman Huckstep
moved to approve the June 30, 2018 – July 13, 2018 bills as presented and was seconded by Alderman Foran. Roll call vote, all ayes. Motion carried.
ADOPTION OF RESOLUTION NO. 18-R-5, RESOLUTION REQUESTING
TEMPORARY CLOSURE OF A STATE HIGHWAY FOR THE ANNUAL BROOM
CORN FESTIVAL PARADE Alderwoman Ferguson moved to adopt Resolution No. 18-R-5 and was seconded by Alderman Hensley. Roll call vote, all ayes. Motion carried.
CONSIDER AND APPROVE ORDINANCE NO. 18-C-5, AN ORDINANCE
AMENDING CHAPTER 5 OF THE ARCOLA MUNICIPAL CODE Alderman Foran
moved to approve Ordinance No. 18-C-5 and was seconded by Alderman Smith. Roll call vote, all ayes. Motion carried.
CONSIDER AND APPROVE ORDINANCE NO. 18-C-6, AN ORDINANCE
AMENDING CHAPTER 3 OF THE ARCOLA MUNICIPAL CODE Alderman Foran
moved to approve Ordinance No. 18-C-6 and was seconded by Alderwoman Huckstep. Roll call vote, all ayes. Motion carried.
CONSIDER AND APPROVE ORDINANCE NO. 18-S-12, AN ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING THE SUBMISSION OF AN ADVISORY PUBLIC POLICY QUESTION AT THE NOVEMBER 06, 2018 GENERAL ELECTION Alderwoman Huckstep moved to table this at this time and was seconded by Alderman Smith. Roll call vote, all ayes. Motion carried.
CONSIDER AND APPROVE PAY REQUEST #1 – TRUCK ROUTE –
HALVERSON CONSTRUCTION -- $106,261.83 Alderman Guyot moved approve Pay Request #1 – Truck Route – Halverson Construction in amount of $106,261.83. Alderman Foran seconded the motion. Roll call vote, all ayes. Motion carried.
CONSIDER AND APPROVE PAY REQUEST #3 – WATER MAIN
CONSTRUCTION SECTION B – B & T DRAINAGE -- $104,385.60 Alderman Guyot
moved to approve Pay Request #3 – Water Main Construction Section B – B & T Drainage in amount of $104,385.60. Alderman Foran seconded the motion. Roll call vote, all ayes. Motion carried.
