Windsor Community Unified School District 1 students suspended 41 times in a single school year

Windsor Community Unified School District 1 reported 41 suspensions for 2016-17, according to the latest student discipline report by the Illinois State Board of Education.

According to the report, the district expelled or suspended 41 students during the year. That equates to 11.1 percent of the 371 students enrolled.

The district reported that most in-school suspensions were given for unspecified reasons. The category includes 23 incidents. There were one incidents of violence that caused physical injury. For 22 incidents, students were suspended for a day or less.

The district reported that most out-of-school suspensions were given for unspecified reasons. The category includes nine incidents. There were four incidents of violence without physical injury. For eight incidents, students were suspended for a day or less.
