Martinsville Community Unit School District 3C students suspended, expelled 10 times in a single school year

Martinsville Community Unit School District 3C reported one expulsions and nine suspensions for 2016-17, according to the latest student discipline report by the Illinois State Board of Education.

According to the report, the district expelled or suspended 10 students during the year. That equates to 2.4 percent of the 416 students enrolled.

Students were expelled for one incident with a dangerous weapon, other than a firearm.

The district reported that most in-school suspensions were given for violence without physical injury. The category includes four incidents. There were two incidents of alcohol. For three incidents, students were suspended for 3-5 days.

The district reported that most out-of-school suspensions were given for violence without physical injury. The category includes two incidents. There were one incidents of unspecified reasons. For two incidents, students were suspended for 1-3 days.
