Robinson Community Unit School District 2 students suspended 27 times in a single school year

Robinson Community Unit School District 2 reported 27 suspensions for 2016-17, according to the latest student discipline report by the Illinois State Board of Education.

According to the report, the district expelled or suspended 27 students during the year. That equates to 1.7 percent of the 1,590 students enrolled.

Of the 21 in-school suspensions, all of whom were elementary or middle schoolers.

The district reported that most in-school suspensions were given for unspecified reasons. The category includes 10 incidents. There were seven incidents of violence without physical injury. For 10 incidents, students were suspended for 1-3 days.

The district reported that most out-of-school suspensions were given for unspecified reasons. The category includes three incidents. There were two incidents of violence that caused physical injury. For three incidents, students were suspended for 3-5 days.
