Paris Community Unit School District 4 students suspended 11 times in a single school year

Paris Community Unit School District 4 reported 11 suspensions for 2016-17, according to the latest student discipline report by the Illinois State Board of Education.

According to the report, the district expelled or suspended 11 students during the year. That equates to 2.3 percent of the 470 students enrolled.

Of the 11 in-school suspensions, all were given to boys, all of whom were elementary or middle schoolers.

The district reported that most in-school suspensions were given for unspecified reasons. The category includes seven incidents. There were three incidents of violence without physical injury. For six incidents, students were suspended for 1-3 days.
