Arcola City Council met Aug. 6.
Here is the agenda provided by the Council:
Mayor Ferguson called the meeting to order at 7:00 p.m. Members present were Alderpersons Foran, Huckstep, Ferguson and Guyot. City Administrator Wagoner, Treasurer Anderson and Attorney Bequette were also present. Alderman Smith and Hensley and Clerk Turner were not present.
Pledge of Allegiance Alderman Foran led the council and audience in the Pledge of Allegiance.
Public comment There was none.
Approval of July 16, 2018 Council Meeting Minutes Alderman Foran moved to approve the July 16, 2018 council meeting minutes as presented and was seconded by Alderwoman Huckstep. Roll call vote, all ayes. Motion carried.
Approval of July 14-August 03, 2018 Bills Alderwoman Huckstep moved to approve the July 14 – August 03, 2018 bills as presented and was seconded by Alderman Foran. Roll call vote, all ayes. Motion carried.
Approval of the Treasurer's Report for July Alderwoman Huckstep moved to approve the Treasurer’s report for July and was seconded by Alderman Foran. Roll call vote, all ayes. Motion carried. It was noted that real estate taxes will be mailed August 10th with first installment due Sept. 10th and second due October 10th.
Approval of the July Zoning Officer's Report The Zoning Officer reported 2 permits issued in the month of July with valuation of $619,200 and $876.80 in fees collected. There also was 1 Variance/Special Use Permit Application with a $45 fee collected. Alderman Foran moved to approve the July Zoning Officer’s report as presented and was seconded by Alderwoman Ferguson. Roll call vote, all ayes. Motion carried.
Consider and approve ordinance no. 18-s-12, an ordinance authorizing the submission of an advisory public policy question at the November 06, 2018 general election Alderwoman Huckstep moved to table this until August 20, 2018 meeting and was seconded by Alderman Guyot. Roll call vote, all ayes. Motion carried.
Report from the Zoning Board of Appeals The Zoning Board of Appeals met July 23, 2018, reviewed and recommended the council approve a request from John and Jana Nacke to replace an existing garage with nonconforming setbacks. Alderman Foran moved to accept the recommendation of the Zoning Board of Appeals. Alderwoman Ferguson seconded the motion. Roll call vote, all ayes. Motion carried.
Accept Resignation From Alex Fuqua Alderman Foran moved to accept resignation from Alex Fuqua and was seconded by Alderwoman Ferguson. Roll call vote, all ayes. Motion carried.
