HSHS ST. ANTHONY'S MEMORIAL HOSPITAL: Convenient Care now offering online reservations to “save your spot”

Hospital

HSHS St. Anthony's Memorial Hospital issued the following announcement on Aug. 7.

HSHS St. Anthony’s Memorial Hospital is pleased to now offer online reservations that that allows patients to “save their spot” at St. Anthony’s Convenient Care walk-in clinic.

St. Anthony’s is partnering with Clockwise.MD to provide this online reservation tool to improve the overall patient experience by allowing patients to reserve a spot in line and receive real-time status updates. Additionally, the HSHS St. Anthony’s Foundation provided Convenient Care with a grant to provide the funds to launch this service, thanks to generous contributions to St. Anthony’s from area businesses and community residents.

This free service is available for St. Anthony’s Convenient Care clinic located in Effingham at 801 West Temple Avenue on the corner of Mulberry Street and Temple Avenue. Patients can visit stanthonyshospital.org/savemyspot and reserve an arrival time based on availability.

“Time is precious and we know that people don’t always have the time to wait in line for an appointment,” said Deb Murbarger, the hospital’s director of Emergency Services and Convenient Care. “Patients can now spend less time in the waiting room and more time in the comfort of home or wherever it is they need to be. We want to be there at the time that works best for them.”

Using a smartphone, tablet or computer, patients can make an online reservation for a time of their choosing at HSHS St. Anthony’s Convenient Care. Using Clockwise.MD’s on-target timing system, patients will receive updates via texts, allowing them to arrive right before their scheduled appointment time.  Patients are asked to arrive 15 minutes before their appointment time to check in and visit the online appointment kiosk.

The service is similar to call-ahead seating at a restaurant. Convenient Care offers a “reservation” time, though not a guaranteed appointment time. Since it is a walk-in clinic and other diagnostic services are offered at the same facility, some patients may not be seen on the order they arrived. All patients will be seen based on severity of symptoms.

St. Anthony’s Convenient Care clinic is open from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. seven days a week, 365 days a year.  The clinic is staffed by mid-level providers, offering a fast, comprehensive approach for people needing medical care but do not necessarily need an emergency room.  The types of illness and injuries that can be treated at the Convenient Care clinic include:

  • Allergies and asthma
