Casey Township Library Board met April 5. 

Here is the minutes as provided by the board:

In attendance: Debby Hutton, Amy Johnson, Susie Mathews, Linda Sauer, Debi Sinclair, Doug Stoutin, Library Director Gretchen Murphy, Assistant Librarian Ashley Athey.


The meeting was called to order at 5:00 p.m. Minutes of the previous meeting were approved on motion by Susie H., seconded by Doug. The monthly report was approved on motion by Debby H., seconded by Linda. Bills were paid on motion by Debby, seconded by Susie. The library activity report was approved on motion by Debby, seconded by Doug.

Old Business:

We agreed to explore other options for tax referendum preparation due to the need for expediency.

New Business:

Discussed the upcoming Binga event, Peace, Love and Binga on Thursday, April 26th.

Doug advised that he had consulted with Tom Monken of Staley Insurance, and we can obtain the same coverage we now have with State Farm at $4,461 per year, for $3,209 through Staley Insurance. We agreed to make this change per motion by Debby, seconded by Susie M.

Ashley and Gretchen apprised us of planned summer reading program events for June, all of which will be free to participants. (Block party, bike-a-thon/contest, etc.) No acts will be hired for entertainment this year.

We agreed to compensate staff members with comparable paid time off at Gretchen's discretion for those working at the Binga event. This policy will be reviewed on a case by case basis going forward.

The meeting adjouned at 6:00, motioned by Susie M, seconded by Doug.
