Lawrence-Allison Fire Protection District responded to 70 calls in 2017 - 52.2 percent more than the previous year, according to data from the National Fire Incident Reporting System.

The calls in Lawrence-Allison included 61 fires - 32 structure fires, 18 vehicle fires and 11 other fires.

In all, the department saw $723,800 in fire loss - or about $11,866 per fire.

The department also received nine false calls.

The calls resulted in one civilian fire-related injury and one civilian fire-related death.

The Lawrence-Allison Fire Protection District had an annual budget of $542,481 in 2017.
