Dieterich Fire Protection District responded to 19 calls in 2017 - 533.3 percent more than the previous year, according to data from the National Fire Incident Reporting System.

The calls in Dieterich included 11 fires - one structure fire, two vehicle fires and eight other fires.

In all, the department saw $10,050 in fire loss - or about $914 per fire.

The department also received eight false calls.

The calls resulted in two civilian non-fire deaths.

The Dieterich Fire Protection District had an annual budget of $162,173 in 2017.
